As we looked over the many things that are happening at Vitrum during the fall semester, we were struck by the fact that everything really pointed to one underlying theme – attention to details.

During the fall semester at Vitrum you’ll be seeing quite a few changes, and as usual we’ll be paying close attention to the little details that will make your learning experience the best possible.

We look forward to seeing you this fall!

Visiting Instructors

Ellen Abbott and Marc Leva of Houston, Texas, will join us this September to teach a 6-day intensive Pate de Verre workshop.  We are delighted that they will be sharing their many years of experience and skill in that often challenging medium. Ellen Abbott and Marc Leva’s pate de verre work is all about the details – technical expertise, horticultural accuracy and artistic concept.  One cannot help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty of the object when you see one of their finished pieces. The quality of their work and their attention to detail has attracted a national clientele.

Bonnie Celeste, of Bullseye Glass, will also join us this fall, for two workshops in November, Set Your Kiln on Fire and Kiln-Glass Components for Jewelry and Wearables. Bonnie is a practicing glass artist who has worked at Bullseye Glass for nine years and is part of their Research and Education department. These two classes are reflections of her own personal work, with a clean and thoughtful design sense, in both lampworkng and kilnforming.  Her aesthetic, and her attention to details, is obvious in both her jewelry and in her kilnformed designs.
