In this four-day workshop, students will explore a variety of thoughtful techniques to create kilnformed components that will be used in their final compositions to convey the essence of the environment around them. They will be exposed to a body of techniques designed to soften and ease the edge, blur the line, and convey a sense of natural beauty while respecting the natural properties of glass - transparency and translucency. The components will be fired, then manipulated using both hot and cold techniques and selectively combined in their final projects. For the student with a basic knowledge of fusing who is interested in exploring new techniques in the medium. Advanced level.
