The New Silver: Precious Metal Clay
Paula Coupe, jewelry designer and certified PMC instructor

Saturday and Sunday, February 21st & 22nd, 2009
10am to 4pm each day

Tuition $310    Deposit $150

In this workshop you will learn techniques for working with Precious Metal Clay, or PMC.  PMC is a compound of fine silver particles mixed into an organic binder that can be rolled, shaped, and textured with amazing detail. When the finished piece is properly fired in the kiln, the organic binder burns off, leaving only pure silver. It offers the artist an easy and quick way to make fine silver jewelry without the tedious steps in more conventional methods of jewelry construction.

Workshop demonstrations and discussions will cover the various types and forms of PMC as well as the basic techniques for creating and finishing jewelry with this wonderful material.

Tuition includes a basic tool kit, as well as enough PMC for several projects.  Additional PMC may be purchased at market price if you wish to make additional projects. All levels.
