Vitrum’s staff artists and many of its visiting instructors have long used these color reactions to great effect in their own personal work, and now we’ve brought together all the information we have learned into a comprehensive course on this fascinating aspect of kilnforming. Students will begin by creating sample charts of the reactive glasses as a reference for their home studios. They will also create samples exploring the potential of these reactive color combinations and finally will complete a larger kiln formed composition that incorporates color reactions as a part of the design. We will have access to Bullseye Glass’ already large palette of reactive glass colors, stringers and rods (including the luster rods), silver foil and copper leaf, as well as their newly developed Reactive Cloud White and Reactive Clear Ice during the workshop. Intermediate level. |
