Basic Wire Wrapping
October 2 & 3, 2010 Learn wire wrapping techniques to enhance, cage and connect lamp worked beads while creating a unique and charming necklace made of pure copper. (Students may also choose to work in sterling silver for an additional materials fee which will be determined by the silver market price). Skills covered in this two-day class include; coiling, spiraling, hammering, filing, use of the butane torch, making jump rings, connectors, clasps and more. This is a technique-filled class. Please bring your own beads (glass beads should be made on a 16 gauge mandrel) or you can purchase unique hand-made beads during class. All materials (except the glass beads) and use of tools are included in the class tuition. |
